Carmarthen County Bowling Association
Llanelli & District Bowling League

MEETING OF CLUBS FOR THE LLANELLI & DISTRICT BOWLING LEAGUE WILL BE HELD AT LLANELLI BOWLING CLUB, OLD ROAD, LLANELLI ON TUESDAY 7TH MARCH 2023 COMMENCING AT 7.00PM

AGENDA

  1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
  2. TO RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATION FROM THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE:

‘That Rule 8 of the League Rules be deleted and that subsequent Rules, and references to them, be renumbered accordingly.’

This effectively removes the restriction of the number of Registered Female Bowlers allowed to participate in League Matches, thereby assisting many teams in selecting full sides. The current situation restricts the number to four per team with not more than one on each rink. Clubs have, over the last two years, been permitted to request an additional allowance to avoid postponing matches.
The Committee also discussed the requirement that there should be, at least, one Male Bowler on each rink.

  1. TO CLARIFY THE SUBSTITUTE RULE IN RESUMED LEAGUE MATCHES
The following should be added after League Rule 18

SUBSTITUTES IN A GAME THAT IS BEING CONTINUED AFTER A STOPPAGE.
If any one of the original players in a team is not available, one substitute will be allowed. Players, however, must not be transferred from one team to another. If players are transferred from one team to another, the defaulting team will forfeit the game to their opponents.
Any substitute may not play in the position of skip so other team members shall rearrange.

  1. TO DECIDE ON THE ELIGIBILITY OF FEMALE BOWLERS IN LEAGUE COMPETITIONS
  2. TO RECEIVE AND AMEND, WHERE NECESSARY:

a. LEAGUE COMPETITION RULES

  1. TO RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING
    a. 2023 LEAGUE FIXTURES
    b. 2023 D.J. JONES DRAW
    c. RESULT CARDS
    d. LEAGUE COMPETITION ENTRY FORMS

ALLAN JONES CHAIRMAN RIP

It is with deep sadness that we have to report the death of our Chairman , Alan Jones, who departed from his beloved Bowls Club on the 27th January 2023.

Alan always made himself available and played a major role in the administration and organisation of Crusaders Bowls ..

His presence will be sorely missed within the club and amongst his many friends and colleagues.
